About Teletherapy

Teletherapy is online occupational therapy services delivered via the internet as an option for remote location patients. Live video sessions are provided through a personal computer, iPad, or smartphone via secure, HIPAA – approved platforms.

Teletherapy allows Zier Institute to extend our therapeutic relationship beyond a physical location. Children and families feel comfortable in their own home and are uniquely receptive to connection, increased engagement, and feelings of competency.

Our staff is specifically trained in Teletherapy methods to create an engaging and effective therapeutic experience. Learn more.

Sessions focus on your specific child and family needs.

It’s Different Here – Zier Institute Approach

Play is the occupation of children, allowing for surprise, pleasure, understanding, strength, and poise. During play, children and teens explore and experience reciprocity, which builds emotional connections and communication skills, opening them up for further skills development and esteem. Zier Institute utilizes the DIR Floortime method of Occupational Therapy. Learn more.

Relationship, which is reciprocal rather than reactive, is foundational to development. Zier Institute uses relationship as the core of our treatment. We effectively help children, teens, and families come together for relationship, reciprocal communication, and joy.

Sharing together helps attention and improves communication skills. Engagement with children allows effective interactions and reciprocal relationships to develop naturally. Zier Institute creates an environment for your child to thrive through engaging relationships and where the entire family learns effective ways to communicate and interact. Learn more.

Understanding emotions, experiencing them, and having the ability to regulate emotions can be difficult for kids who are struggling or those with developmental challenges. Through the use of emotional regulation tools, we help establish meaningful connections with those closest to them and feelings of joy.

Success looks like joy, interest, participation, and pleasure. Imagine an ease of relationship which is not forced or coerced. Growth can happen emotionally, socially, and/or physically. We use our individualized approach to help your child reach the milestones important for their development while strengthening the family relationship.

Creating secure attachments and attunement with caregivers is at the core of what we do. By asking and understanding the why of the behavior, children and teens are able to form stronger connections with parents, caregivers, and peers.
